Rev. Grace Gravelle of Christ Lutheran Church in Shrewsbury lit candles on Tuesday morning in solidarity with residents of Baltimore.

Christ Lutheran Church in Shrewsbury held a prayer service this morning for anyone looking to pray for peace and safety in Baltimore.

“I understand people are upset (but) love and compassion are always a better answer,” Gravelle said.

Becky Stevenson, a member of Christ Lutheran Church, said she supports peaceful protests, “but this is way beyond that.”

The service began at 8 a.m. in the sanctuary of the church, located at 105 S. Main St. in Shrewsbury.
