Cumberland County to vote on plan to outsource shared ride system
(Carlisle) — Cumberland County commissioners are set to vote tonight on a plan to outsource the county’s shared ride system.
Rabbit Transit would take over the service starting July 1st, with a savings of up to a $500,000 in the first two years.
No layoffs are expected if the merger is approved, but some vacant positions will be eliminated.
Rabbit Transit already provides shared ride service in Adams, Northumberland and York counties.
Cumberland County’s program helps people get to doctor’s appointments, assistance offices, and other locations.
