(Harrisburg) — A day after a siren test at Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station in York County, the sirens at Three Mile Island will sound for three minutes.

It’s a semi-annual test, and will start around 12:15 this afternoon.

96 sirens within a 10-mile radius of the nuclear plant in Dauphin County will be tested.

In an emergency, the sirens are designed to alert people to tune to an Emergency Alert Broadcast Station.
