Election 2014: A Statewide News Special
WHYY’s Dave Davies
Ahead of Tuesday’s primary election in Pennsylvania, WITF is airing a special program today at 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. profiling the candidates and issues. From the race for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination to the potential impact voters in western Pennsylvania could have on the governor’s race to the discussion about funding education., WHYY’s Dave Davies serves as the host and introduces us to reporters from across the state who’ve been covering the campaigns. The Election 2014 primary special was produced by WHYY in Philadelphia in collaboration with WITF, WESA in Pittsburgh and WPSU in State College. Among the stories featured are the StateImpact Pennsylvania team looking at calls for a drilling extraction tax, WITF’s state Capitol Bureau Chief Mary Wilson outlining how voters could potentially impact the state House and Senate and WITF’s Keystone Crossroads reporter Emily Previti detailing what the gubernatorial candidates are saying about ways to help the state’s struggling cities.
WITF’s Smart Talk will return on Monday at 9:00 a.m.
