(Harrisburg) — A memorial service is scheduled for 10 o’clock this morning in Harrisburg to celebrate the life of Ava Berg.

A Harrisburg resident since 1979, Berg is remembered as an artist, activist and outspoken member of the community — especially on the issue of medical marijuana.

Berg died late last month at the age of 70. She is survived by a daughter, two grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Today’s service is being held at St. Paul’s Baptist Church on North 17th Street in Harrisburg.
