RST: NPR’s David Greene

Radio Smart Talk for Friday, June 21:

Most of the people who listen to witf-fm are big fans of NPR. In fact, Morning Edition attracts the largest audience on the station each day.

One of voices heard most often on Morning Edition is David Greene, who acts as the primary substitute host and also appears on Weekend Edition Saturday and Sunday.

Greene will appear on Friday’s Radio Smart Talk to discuss his career, the stories he’s covered, and weigh in on events and issues around the world.

David Greene is a Pennsylvania native. He was born in Philadelphia, spent his childhood in Pittsburgh and moved to Lancaster in his teens, eventually graduating from McCaskey High School in Lancaster.

Greene’s degree at Harvard was in government but his career path took him to journalism and he ended up covering the White House for the Baltimore Sun and then NPR starting in 2005 during the Bush Administration.

Greene moved to NPR’s foreign desk and reported from Moscow for two years before coming back to the United States.

He has a fascinating story to tell.
