PennDOT advises drivers that several state roads are closed in Central Pennsylvania because of weather issues.

Centre County:
Route 445 in Miles Township from Route 192 (Brush Valley Road) to Shaffer Town Road due to a downed telephone line. The westbound lane is closed. This road is expected to open by 1 p.m.

Clinton County:
Route 120 from Bitumen Road in Noyes Township to Brewery Run Avenue in Renovo Borough due to a rock slide. This road is closed in both directions and expected to open by 1 p.m. today.

Juniata County:
Route 3006 (Mountain Road) from Tuscarora Mountain Road in Turbett Township to Mill Lane in Spruce Hill Township due to downed utilities and a downed tree. This road is closed in both directions and expected to open by 1 p.m.

Mifflin County:
Route 655 in Menno Township between the intersection of Waynesburg Road and West Back Mountain Road due to downed electric lines. This road is closed in both directions and expected to open by 11 a.m.

Route 2004 (Back Maitland Road) in Derry Township between Westwood Street and Noerr Lane due to a house fire. This road is closed in both directions and expected to open by 11 a.m.

PennDOT District 2 will update the list of road closures periodically as the storm moves through the region.

Motorists should monitor weather forecasts and check road conditions before beginning any travel. Visit www.511PA.com or call 511 from any telephone for access to current conditions on more than 2,900 miles of roadway.

When traveling during a winter storm, drivers should adjust their speed to accommodate for changing weather conditions. Motorists shoud also beware of roads that may look wet but are actually frozen, often referred to as “black ice.”

Winter driving conditions require that motorists allow for a greater following distance between vehicles. Motorists are reminded to always buckle up.
