Republican Sen. Cris Dush reprimands Democratic lawmaker for referring to the Capitol attack as an insurrection, wrongly saying no one has been charged with insurrection.

Across the country, GOP candidates for secretary of state and others with some role in election administration, like governor and attorney general — have embraced the lie that widespread fraud affected the 2020 election results.

Over the course of the 18 months, four election denialists NPR tracked have been slated to speak at at least 308 events in 45 states and the District of Columbia.

An NPR investigation found that since Jan. 6, 2021, the election denial movement has moved from Donald Trump’s tweets to hundreds of community events led by a core group of election conspiracy influencers.
