Car Talk Farewell

Written by Fred Vigeant, Director of Programming and Promotions for TV and Radio | Jun 27, 2017 6:40 PM

We're getting down to the final few months of Car Talk on WITF. The show moves to Sunday at 10am beginning July 1 and continuing until October 1.

This change is happening because earlier this year NPR announced the weekly production of The Best of Car Talk would draw to a conclusion at the end of September.

The producers of Car Talk plan to continue providing a weekly podcast of the show beyond September if you are still interested in getting your fill.

Read this letter from Ray Magliozzi sharing his thanks for your on-going listening and support.

This is bittersweet news of course. For me, Car Talk was a gateway to the wonderful world of public radio, along with A Prairie Home Companion and Bob and Ray in the eighties. Car Talk was memorable to me with its mix of corny jokes, infectious laughter and expert car advice. Perhaps you have a similar story.

Please take a moment to celebrate the laughter and fun drive-way moments that Tom and Ray have provided you over the decades.  Feel free to share your favorite moments with a post to WITF's facebook wall.  In the coming weeks,  The Best of Car Talk will present the best calls of all time.  We hope you agree and will share in the laughter one more time.
