What is Innovation U?

On the TV show "Shark Tank" budding entrepreneurs get the chance to bring their dreams to fruition.  They present their ideas to industry leaders who have successfully grown their own ideas into lucrative empires.  If the "sharks" like the idea as presented, they bid to invest and participate in the company.  If they don't like it, the entrepreneurs are sent home to figure things out on their own.

If you're an entrepreneur in Pennsylvania, you never have to work alone.  Across the state colleges and universities are opening campus spaces where students, staff, and community members can connect with business leaders, work with experienced professionals, and get financial and legal advice.  These places have different specialties and go by different names: academic incubators, innovation hubs, accelerators, but they all have one funtion in common, they are helping the next generation of entrepreneurs get their ideas from concept to reality.

Have a great idea but you aren't sure how to make it happen?  Maybe your local college or university can help!

Innovation U looks at stories of entrepreneurs from across the state and the academic institutions that are helping them turn dreams into reality.
