Film Production Manager Pablo Lopez joins The Spark to discuss the mission of Film Happy Valley PA and efforts to make the region more production-ready by connecting filmmakers with local locations, crews, businesses, hotels, vendors and permitting support. The initiative is also focused on building a stronger career pipeline for local talent, including Penn State’s creative community, with the goal of turning education and training into productions and long-term careers. Lopez will discuss how projects like Just One More, which generated about $125,000 in local spending and more than 200 hotel stays, demonstrate the potential economic impact of film production and why creating more opportunities could give productions a reason to return and local talent a reason to stay in Pennsylvania.
