Lancaster County native and massage therapist Chuck Waters joins The Spark to talk about his first memoir, 50 Things at 50, released September 8. The book began with a challenge to complete 50 experiences around the time Waters turned 50, including travel, outdoor adventures, learning to ride a Onewheel and facing long-held fears. But those experiences became the starting point for a much deeper story about fatherhood, estrangement, divorce, forgiveness, relationships, accountability and rebuilding a life when things don’t go according to plan.

Waters also reflects on the role Lancaster County and the Susquehanna Riverlands play in the book and why 50 Things at 50 goes beyond a traditional bucket-list story or self-help book. Instead, he describes it as an honest look at resilience, moving forward and living with parts of life that remain unresolved.
