As technology continues to shape how children learn, communicate and understand the world around them, parents and educators are navigating new challenges—from social media and digital media to the rapid rise of artificial intelligence. On The Spark, we’ll talk with Eisha Buch, Head of Teaching and Learning at Common Sense Media, about helping young people build the skills they need to navigate technology thoughtfully and safely.

Buch, a former New York City teacher with more than 15 years in education, leads Common Sense Media’s K–12 Digital Literacy & Well-Being Curriculum, which reaches millions of students, educators and families. We’ll explore why digital literacy should be as fundamental as learning to read and write, how media literacy can help children think critically about what they encounter online, and the growing questions surrounding AI and youth safety. We’ll also discuss how parents, educators and policymakers can balance technological innovation with children’s well-being.
