The Pride of the Susquehanna is getting a financial boost aimed at bringing more visitors to central Pennsylvania.
On The Spark, Melissa Snyder, administrator and manager of the Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat, discussed the vessel’s recent $25,000 tourism grant approved by the Dauphin County Board of Commissioners and what the funding means for the riverboat’s future.
The grant is intended to help the Pride of the Susquehanna attract new visitors while supporting tourism and economic activity throughout the Harrisburg region. In announcing the award, the riverboat shared its appreciation on social media, writing, “We are so deeply grateful… A rising tide lifts all ships!”
During the conversation, Snyder discussed how the funding will support the riverboat’s mission of providing sightseeing cruises, themed excursions and educational experiences along the Susquehanna River. She also shared how the Pride of the Susquehanna continues to serve as one of the region’s most recognizable attractions, connecting residents and visitors with the history, beauty and significance of Pennsylvania’s longest river.
