Pennsylvania hospitals are being recognized for innovative work that’s improving patient care and community health.

The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania’s 2026 Achievement Awards highlight standout programs across the state—including The Community Champions Award, Geisinger Health for Social Needs Resource Hub, which connects patients to critical services beyond traditional care and WellSpan Health for redesigning behavioral health crisis care through expanded community-based services, including walk-in center and mobile crisis programs.

On The Spark, Allison Hess of Geisinger and Tina Citro of WellSpan Health discuss what these awards represent, how their teams are addressing community needs, and the growing role hospitals play beyond the walls of patient care.
