The Spark spoke with Carol Thornton, along with Ericka Anderson of Landisburg EMS and Jeanna Som of Supportive Partnerships for Youth, about Match Madness, an annual campaign led by Partnership for Better Health that supports small and mid-sized nonprofits across the region. Now in its 10th year, the initiative has raised more than $6.1 million since 2016, helping organizations focused on health equity expand their impact. Modeled loosely after the excitement of March Madness, the campaign brings together dozens of nonprofits, often up to 64, creating both collaboration and friendly competition. During the conversation, Anderson and Som shared how participating has helped elevate their work in the community, while Thornton highlighted how the campaign continues to grow and provide critical support to organizations serving local needs.
