Skyline Family Restaurant, 7510 Allentown Blvd. Harrisburg, Complaint, December 19. Fail. Food employee observed donning single-use gloves without a prior hand wash. Corrected on-site. The person in charge did not demonstrate adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection. Observed numerous containers of in-house prepared foods stored in the walk-in cooler without proper datemarking. Food employees observed in the food prep area not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets, hats, or beard covers. Corrected on-site. Observed a handwash sink in the food prep area connected to a mechanical potato peeler via a hose ran to the sink faucet; sink was unusable as a handwash station at the time of this inspection. Corrected on-site. Observed numerous containers of food stored in the walk-in cooler open with no covering. Corrected on-site. Observed a food employee portioning food and handling a serving plate with bare hands. Corrected on-site. Observed buckets of uncovered bread stored directly on the floor in the dry storage area, rather than 6 inches off of the floor as required. Corrected on-site. Observed two cases of turkey breast and one case of raw chicken thawing at room temperature in the food prep area outside of refrigeration, which is not an approved thawing method. Corrected on-site.
