Antojitos Ecuatorianos, 368 Lancaster Ave. Malvern, Opening, December 5. Pass. The prep sink in the kitchen does not have an adequate air gap of at least 1 inch, between the water supply and flood rim of the sink. Install immediately, provide photo of correction. The waste bin in the restroom needs to have a lid for sanitary napkins. Provide immediately.
Capozzoli Catering @ Red Clay Room/Kennett Fire Co., 423 Dalmation St. Kennett Square, December 5. Pass. No violations.
Fontana Pizza & Grill, 260 N. Pottstown Pike, Exton, December 5. Fail. Food employees observed entering kitchen from outside and beginning food handling without washing hands. Re-train staff. A food employee was observed touching cooked pizza – a ready-to-eat food – with bare hands. Gloves must be used. Re-train staff. Food in the standing freezer and prep tops stored open with no covering. Cover all foods today. Re-train staff. Cheese, cooked onions, and mushrooms were held at 46 degrees F, in the left-side prep top, rather than 41 degrees F or below as required. Foods were stacked above the fill line. Re-train staff. Commercially processed ready-to-eat food, and held more than 24 hours, is not being marked with the date it was opened. Begin practice immediately. Time/Temperature Controlled for Safety (TCS) ready-to-eat food prepared in the food facility and held for more than 24 hours, located in the prep tops, are not being date-marked consistently. Additionally, sliced deli meat and cheeses in the walk-in cooler were not date-marked. Re-train staff. Coleslaw, a potentially hazardous ready-to-eat food requiring date-marking, in the walk-in cooler, was beyond the date-marking and requires discarding. Food was discarded. Time in lieu of temperature being used in the food facility to control ready-to-eat Time/Temperature Controlled for Safety (TCS) food (pizza) without written procedures or documentation to verify disposition of food. Two pizzas were on display at the time of inspection, and no times were recorded. Re-train staff. Tabletop can opener blade, a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Sanitize blade today and maintain cleanliness. Non-food contact surfaces not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil. Kitchen requires a deep cleaning with a focus on the following areas: Dough prep area; Dough prep area shelves; Microwave interior/exterior; Lower walls/floors around food prep sink; Shelves in the walk-in cooler; Milkshake machine in dough prep area. Unit must be removed if not being used; Canned goods rack; Exterior and interior of cookline equipment. Cloth stored inside back kitchen handwashing sink indicating uses other than handwashing. Cloth was removed during inspection. Repair FRP walls around food prep sink. Soap was not available at the handwash sink in the front kitchen. Soap was supplied during inspection. No sign or poster posted at the handwash sink in the back kitchen to remind food employees to wash their hands. Post sign.
Giant Food Store #6045, 849 W. Baltimore Pike, West Grove, Opening, December 5. Pass. Install base cove along floor/wall juncture in the newly renovated Giant Direct space. Paint wall to right of ordering station – unfinished. It was reported that these items will be completed by 12/13/25.
Kennett Fire Co. #1, 301 Dalmatian St. Kennett Square, December 5. Pass. No violations.
Kimberton Whole Foods, 429 E. King Rd. Malvern, December 5. Pass. Clean the following: floors in smoothie food prep area; window sills and blinds in food prep area.
McDonald’s Oxford #32460, 400 Commons Dr. Oxford, December 5. Pass. The floor is in need of cleaning to the right of the ice machine – trash debris/cobwebs. This area was cleaned during the inspection – maintain in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.
