China House, 3215 N. 5th Street Highway, Suite 6, Reading, November 30. Pass. Food observed thawing at room temperature, not submerged under running water, which is not an approved thawing method. Corrected on inspection.
Reading Hotels, LLC, 2200 Stacey Dr. Reading, November 30. Pass. No violations.
Billy’s Homemade Candies, 4949 Kutztown Rd. Temple, November 29. Pass. No violations.
Panera Bread #6072, 4229 N. 5th St. Temple, November 29. Pass. Food employees observed in prep area, not wearing proper hair restraint, such as beard covers. Sheet pan rack glides in walk-in refrigerator not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of soil.
Temple Family Restaurant, 4949 N. 5th Street Highway, Reading, November 29. Pass. Potatoes in the walk-in refrigerator stored open with no covering. Corrected on inspection. Cook’s bain marie food was held at > 54 degrees F, with lid open, rather than 41 degrees F or below as required. Non-permanent correction with placement of ice to cool; follow-up service appt to be scheduled per owner. Wire shelving for potato storage bins is not smooth, and easily cleanable.
Tlacuani Mexican Restaurant, 5005 Kutztown Rd. Temple, November 29. Pass. Food dispensing utensil in small bulk sugar container observed stored in the food with no handle. Corrected on inspection. Condiments (in souffle cups) was held at 45.0 degrees F, in glass door upright reach-in refrigerator area, rather than 41 degrees F or below as required.
