Aramark @ Villa Maria Academy Lower School, 280 IMH Dr. Malvern, November 14. Pass. Oven in the kitchen not working and unused. If large equipment is left unused it needs to be removed from site to help prevent any potential pest harborage.

Arianna’s Gourmet Café, 323 E. Gay St. West Chester, November 14. Fail. Commercially processed, ready-to-eat food, and held more than 24 hours, is not being marked with the date it was opened. Begin practice. One container of Time/Temperature Controlled for Safety (TCS) ready-to-eat food and cut deli cheese prepared in the food facility and held for more than 24 hours, located in the prep top, was not date-marked. Foods were discarded or labeled during inspection. Wood shelf above oven/stove is exposed to splash, spillage, or other food soiling and must be easily cleanable. Clean and seal wood to be smooth, non-absorbent, and easily cleanable or replace shelf. Obtain 3 drain plugs for the 3-compartment sink. No sign or poster posted at the handwash sinks in the restrooms in the dining area to remind food employees to wash their hands. Post signs. Food facility’s quaternary ammonium test strips are missing the color indicator guide. Obtain new guide or test strips. Walk-in cooler was being repaired at the time of inspection. Ensure unit can maintain foods at 41 degrees F before resuming use. Non-food contact surfaces not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil. Clean the following: Racks above stove/oven; Cover of fans mounted in kitchen; Microwave interior (including top); Inside of cabinet storing cutting boards; Top of mechanical dishwasher. A restricted-use pesticide observed in the food facility. Raid was removed during inspection.
