The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, 866-366-3723, uses a risk-based inspection reporting process for restaurants and other food handlers.

Bored Trading Cafe, 139 W. Gay St. West Chester, Follow-up, October 31. Fail. Ambient air thermometer in True cold drawers on cook line not accurate to within 3 degrees F. At time of inspection reading was 13 degrees F off with no calibration available. Replace this air thermometer and verify accuracy. True cold drawers under flat top grill observed at 53 degrees F ambient and not 41 degrees F or below as required. Do not use these drawers for Time/Temperature Controlled for Safety Foods until repaired and able to hold contents at 41 degrees F or below. Faucet at mop sink connected to a downstream valve that has the potential to subject the faucet and its integrated vacuum breakers to constant pressure. Replumb the chemical dispenser and mop sink faucet to ensure the vacuum breakers are compliant with intended use conditions in the ASSE, NSF/ANSI or other applicable standards. Cleaning solution dispenser at mop sink unusable as it sprays water when pressurized. Do not use until serviced and can be used without leaking.
Cafe Com Leite, 117 S. Main St. Phoenixville, Follow-up, October 31. Pass. No violations.
Gu Gu Asian Table, 938 E. Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, Follow-up, October 31. Pass. No violations.
Jersey Mike’s Subs (JMPA West Chester Pa LLC), 323 E. Gay St. West Chester, Complaint, October 31. Pass. Observed food employee wearing a visor with their long hair coming down out of the top of the visor. Hair must be restrained by tying it back/down or maintaining under a hat.
Kennett Senior High School, 100 E. South St. Kennett Square, October 31. Pass. Thermometers for ensuring proper temperatures of food are not available. Supply stem thermometers and use to check food temperatures throughout events. Supply Chlorine test strips to test sanitizer at the 3-compartment sink to ensure it is 50-100ppm. Soap and paper towels were not supplied to the hand sink. Ensure both are always available at hand sink to facilitate proper hand washing. At least one person that regularly works in the concession stand during events must obtain a food manager’s certificate. NOT a food handler certificate. Complete coursework within 90 days.
Oxford United Methodist Church, 18 Addison St. Oxford, October 31. Pass. No violations.
