Observed raw shelled eggs were stored above ready-to-eat foods in the two-door standing refrigerator.
Dollar General Store No. 10839, 51 W. Main St., Unit 53, Waynesboro, Sept. 23. Pass. Floors in the facility is made of vinyl tile and is not durable, smooth, nonporous, nonabsorbent. Multiple areas throughout the facility: Areas showing earth and floors are cracked.
Dunkin’, 1900 E. Main St., Waynesboro, Sept. 23. Pass. The food facility does not have the original certificate for the certified food employee posted in public view. Floor drain behind main line has significant amounts of rust and is not in good repair.

The quaternary ammonia concentration in the sanitizing solution of the three-bay warewash sink was greater than 400 ppm, rather than 200-400 ppm as stated on the manufacturer’s use directions. Observed deeply scored cutting boards not resurfaced or discarded as required.
Mountain View Elementary School, 2311 Lemar Road, Mercersburg, Sept. 23. Pass. The hot water used for sanitizing in the mechanical warewashing machine did not reach 180 F (or 165 F for stationary rack). After running the mechanical washer 10 times, the final rinse only reached 95 degrees. The quaternary ammonia concentration in the sanitizing solution of the three-bay warewash sink was greater than 400 ppm, rather than 150-400 ppm as stated on the manufacturer’s use directions.

Hawthorn Extended Stay, 1123 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, Sept. 22. Pass. Whole eggs was held at 70 F in the buffet area rather than 41 F or below as required. Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration. Facility does not have procedures for employees to follow when responding to an event involving vomitus or fecal matter discharge onto surfaces within the facility. Food facility does not have sanitizer for the three-compartment sink. Thermometers for ensuring proper temperatures of food are not available or readily accessible. Exterior door in the rear of the food facility has a gap and does not protect against the entry of insects, rodents, and other animals. Observed wet-wiping cloths not being stored in sanitizer solution. Paper towel dispenser was empty at the hand sink in the women’s bathroom. The food facility does not employee a certified employee as required. An employee has attended an approved training class but has not applied for PDA Certification. Observed toxic material not clearly labeled with a manufacturer’s label. No sign or poster posted at the hand-washing sink area to remind food employees to wash their hands.
