Benny’s Pizza & Italian Restaurant, 1910 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, follow-up, Aug. 29. Pass. No violations.

Caretti’s Pizza, 2625 N. Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, follow-up, Aug. 29. Pass. No violations.

Greene Township Park, 1006 Elevator St., Scotland, Aug. 29. Pass. Observed the three-bay sink does not have an adequate air gap of at least 1 inch between the floor drain and PVC drain piping.

Little Vince’s Pizza, 3811 Main St., Scotland, Aug. 29. Fail. Observed deli ham, a refrigerated, ready-to-eat time/temperature control for safety food in the walk-in cooler area was date-marked but expired and requires discarding. Plumbing system not maintained in good repair; observed the water line for the ice machine leaking at the connection point on the back of the machine. Salt and sugar ingredient storage containers in the dry storage area not labeled with the common name of the food. Person in charge did not demonstrate adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this noncompliant inspection. Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration. Food facility ice machine condensation line has a direct line to the floor drain, creating possible backflow of sewage. Women’s toilet room does not have a self-closing door. Observed the door of the walk-in freezer to be in extremely poor disrepair. Heavy buildup of ice around the door, not allowing it to fully close and attempted to be repaired with materials unapproved for food equipment (tape, exposed wood). Loose rubber door gaskets observed on the two-door freezer, next to the walk-in cooler. Various pieces of equipment (large industrial mixer accessory, can opener) were observed to have food residue and were not clean to sight and touch. Paper towel dispenser empty at the hand-wash sink in the front kitchen area.

Brothers Pizza Waynesboro, 11882 Buchanan Trail East, Waynesboro, Aug. 28. Pass. Food employees observed in kitchen prep area not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets, hats or beard covers.

Earl’s Food Market, 15755 Pennsylvania Ave. North, State Line, Aug. 28. Pass. Observed a tray of raw steaks that were stored above ready-to-eat foods in the walk-in cooler. Toilet rooms do not have a self-closing door.

Mcalister’s Deli, 541 Gateway Ave., Chambersburg, opening, Aug. 28. Pass. No violations.

Punto G, 51 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, opening, Aug. 28. Pass. No violations.

Punto G Caribbean Food, 565 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, opening, Aug. 28. Pass. The food facility does not have an employee that has a food protection certified managers certificate. Food facility has 90 days to obtain that certificate.

Kenny’s, 2342 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, regular/complaint, Aug. 27. Pass. Time in lieu of temperature being used in the food facility to control ready-to-eat, potentially hazardous foods without written procedures or documentation to verify disposition of food (brewed tea, sweet and unsweet).

Monica Kelso Catering & Kitchen Studio, 140 N. Third St., Chambersburg, opening, Aug. 27. Pass. No violations.

The Family Table Restaurant and Catering, 2830 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, Aug. 27. Pass. Observed the sugar and flour ingredient storage containers not labeled with the common name of the food. Observed the three-door refrigeration/prep table unit to have standing water in the bottom of the unit due to condensation. Firm has a technician to fix the unit.

Chambersburg Area Middle School-South, 1151 E. McKinley St., Chambersburg, Aug. 26. Pass. Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration.

Thaddeus Stevens Elementary School, 800 Hollywell Ave., Chambersburg, Aug. 25. Pass. No violations.
