Chipotle Mexican Grill, 10444 U.S. Route 522 South, Lewistown, July 30. Pass. Observed the interior of the ice chutes on both fountain soda dispensers had a buildup of a pink, slimy residue. Also noted the interior of the soda nozzles on both machines had a buildup of old, dried soda syrup. Ice chutes and soda nozzles were cleaned and sanitized during this inspection.

Jersey Mike’s Subs, 10405 U.S. Route 522 South, Lewistown, July 30. Pass. Observed a pink, slimy residue on the inside of the ice chute on the drive-thru fountain soda dispenser. Chute was cleaned and sanitized during this inspection. Nonfood contact surfaces not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of old dried food debris, specifically, the refrigerated doors on the sandwich prep coolers.

Snappy’s No. 514, 10405 U.S. Route 522 South, Lewistown, July 30. Pass. Temperature-measuring device for ensuring proper temperatures in the refrigerated display cooler is not located to measure the warmest part of the equipment. The food facility does not have the original certificate for the certified food employee posted in public view. Observed an unopened can of Monster Energy drink in the hand-wash sink basin; hand-washing sinks are for handwashing only. Mops are not being hung to air-dry.

Taco Bell, 10406 U.S. Route 522 South, Lewistown, July 30. Pass. No violations.

The Bierhaus, 10141 U.S. Route 522 South, Lewistown, July 30. Pass. Facility is only washing, rinsing and air-drying warewash items. It is skipping the sanitizing step. It was instructed on how to properly use the three-compartment sink for washing, rinsing and sanitizing. Observed nozzles on the soda guns at the bar had a heavy buildup of dried, sticky syrup. Both nozzles were cleaned and sanitized during this inspection. Food facility does not employ a certified food employee as required; failure to maintain Food Employee Certification (manager) may result in a $300 civil penalty. Food facility has an employee who held a Certified Food Manager certificate; however, the certificate has expired and is no longer valid. Certificate expired 12/06/2023.

Peachey Foods, 85 S. Penn St., P.O. Box 5635, Belleville, July 29. Pass. Observed the door seal is torn on the four-door freezer unit in the retail sale area.

The Reedsville Creamery Belleville, 4465 E. Main St., Belleville, regular/complaint, July 29. Pass. Observed a 50-pound bag of onions stored in direct contact with the floor in the walk-in cooler.

Whitehall General Store, 2517 state Route 655, Belleville, July 29. Pass. No violations.
