The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, 866-366-3723, uses a risk-based inspection reporting process for restaurants and other food handlers.

Blue Stone Bakery, mobile food facility Type 1, 1218 Loop Rd. Columbia, July 25. Pass. No violations.
Bucky’s Kettle Corn, mobile food facility Type 3, 1469 Lancaster Rd. Manheim, July 25. Fail. The Person in Charge did not demonstrate adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection. Observed several food ingredient storage containers, in the mobile unit, is not labeled with the common name of the food. Observed large bags of popcorn kernels stored directly on the floor in the mobile unit, rather than 6 inches off of the floor as required. Food facility does not have a three-compartment sink for manual warewashing or a filed shared agreement with the Department where utensils and equipment are being washed. The food facility does not have a handwash sink equipped to provide potable water at a minimum temperature of at least 85 degrees F through a mixing valve or combination faucet in the mobile unit. Observed windows, in the mobile unit, is open, unscreened, and does not protect against the entry of insects, rodents, and other animals.
Callaloo Modern Caribbean, 2 W. Grant St. Lancaster, July 25. Fail. Potentially hazardous ready-to-eat food prepared in the food facility and held for more than 48 hours, located in the reach-in refrigerator, is not being date marked. Food thermometer is not scaled to measure to +/- 2 degrees F.
Canteen @ Dart Pitney Rd., 110 Pitney Rd. Lancaster, July 25. Pass. No violations.
Forklift and Palate, 2913 Spooky Nook Rd. Manheim, July 25. Fail. The Person in Charge did not demonstrate adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection. Observed deeply scored cutting boards not resurfaced or discarded as required. Juice machine was observed to have moldlike residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Observed static dust on the air return vents above food prep. Paper towels and soap for handwashing not available at bar area handwashing sink. Working containers of blue liquid in bar area, used for storing cleaners taken from bulk supplies, were not marked with the common name of the chemical in correct container. Observed working containers of cleaner and sanitizer were stored hanging on the handwash sink in the bar service area.
