HERSHEY — As part of country star Shania Twain’s tour, she and the Shania Twain Foundation plan to donate to local food banks at every stop, including at her July 26 Hershey concert.
Twain’s foundation, which focuses on food insecurity, youth empowerment and mental health, will donate $25,000 to the Hershey Food Bank, at 120 E. Derry Road in Hershey.
“At the Shania Twain Foundation, we believe everyone deserves access to nutritious food,” says Twain in a press release. “These donations to the Hershey Food Bank will provide direct support in Central Pennsylvania. We can make a meaningful impact across the country by helping to ensure that food banks are well stocked and, in turn, uplift people in every city we visit this summer.”
Doug Gray, assistant treasurer of the Hershey Food Bank, says in a press release that “this unexpected donation represents about 11% of our total food purchases for the year, and will allow us to purchase the food that we will distribute to 347 families in one month.”
Twain will perform at Hersheypark Stadium at 7:30 p.m. July 26, with the concert featuring special guest Andy Grammer.
Tickets remain for those who want to attend the concert. As part of Live Nation’s promotion, $30 Ticket to Summer, a variety of seats are available for $30 until July 22, or while tickets last.
