Pennon Education Presents Gear Up for Learning

Join Pennon Education and WITF for a fun-filled family celebration of the joy of learning, the power of imagination and the excitement of a fresh, new school year with a Pete the Cat twist!

Tickets are free, but donations help to fund events like Gear Up for Learning in our community. We suggest a $5 donation per family.
Gear Up for Learning offers families an opportunity to explore Pete the Cat-themed stations that spark curiosity and highlight STEM, literacy and social-emotional learning. Plus, families can meet and take a photo with Pete the Cat!
Families and children can:
- Code Blue Bots to demolish a playground like in Pete the Cat’s Construction Destruction
- Imagine and design the ultimate new playground using LEGOs
- Guide Spheros through outer space and safely back to Earth
- Design their own groovy button to match Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons
- Report the news of what they’re most excited about from our Digital Creator Studio
- Enjoy bilingual story time with Pennon Education’s original character, Tia Flora!
- Tour a real school bus! Courtesy of Rhorer Bus, kids can explore a parked school bus to help ease first-day jitters
Children who attend will receive a FREE copy of Pete the Cat: Rocking in My School Shoes by Eric Litwin, James Dean and Kimberly Dean. Teens will receive a FREE copy of The Legend of the Last Library by Frank L. Cole.
Midtown Scholar Bookstore will have additional books available for purchase, too. Gear Up for Learning is a free event designed for children, ages 3–14.
