Giant Food #6294, 1255 Carlisle Rd. York, May 22. Pass. Food Employee observed chewing gum food in the bakery area. Bakery cases do not have signs/placards advising ingredients are available upon request. Sliced meat and sliced cheeses, refrigerated, ready to eat time temperature control for safety food in the deli area, was date-marked but was beyond the 7 day use or sell by date and requires discarding. Observed deli meat with two date marking tags each with different sell by date. A working container of sanitizer was stored on the same shelf with single service articles in the deli area. Bakery walk-in cooler shelving is lined with cardboard. Cardboard is not non-absorbent and cleanable as required. Observed heavy accumulation of frozen condensate on interior ceiling of perishable walk-in cooler. Seafood case motor house is missing a panel on the end closest to seafood department entryway. Underside of mixer motor house, a food contact surface, located in the bakery area was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Waste receptacle used inside the meat walk-in cooler was soiled and in need of cleaning. Corrected.

Capt. Crab, 4223 Lincoln E. Highway, York, May 21. Pass. Protective plastic sheeting used to limit damage in shipping should be removed from fryers and table supporting flat grill. Raw chicken was stored above raw shrimp in the walk in cooler. Mechanical warewashing equipment had a lime scale buildup observed inside. Crab legs food observed thawing in standing water in the three basin sink, which is not an approved thawing method. Provided training.
