The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, 866-366-3723, uses a risk-based inspection reporting process for restaurants and other food handlers.

Aramark @ Lionville Elementary School, 526 W. Uwchlan Ave. Downingtown, April 4. Pass. Wawa sandwich observed in the Delfield hot holding unit and two containers of personal overnight oats were observed in the walk in cooler. Relocate these items to a separate “employee food only” area away from food for the school. Designate a spot within 24 hours.
Buddy’s Burgers, 122 Woodcutter Dr. Exton, April 4. Pass. Raw chicken was stored above raw beef in the walk-in cooler. Beef was relocated during the inspection. Mayo, ranch, and garlic mayo was held at 59 degrees F, 61 degrees F, and 53 degrees F, in the top of the prep top, rather than 41 degrees F or below as required. Foods were discarded during the inspection. Monitor temperature of TCS squeeze bottles. Commercially processed ready to eat food (milkshake mix) and held more than 24 hours is not being marked with the date it was opened. House made sauces, parcooked wings, and cooked vegetables in the walk-in cooler and prep top, were not properly date marked. Some items had been thawed. The freezing date and the thawing date must be put on the container along with the preparation date as an indication of how many of the original seven days have been used. If food is not dated with these dates, it must be used or discarded within 24 hours. Re-train staff. Non-food contact surfaces not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil. Clean the following: Walls/floors under the 3 compartment sink; Floors under the prep table and standing freezer across from the 3 compartment sink; Under/behind the ice cream freezer; Inside soda machine cabinets. Working containers in the warewashing area used for storing chemicals/cleaners taken from bulk supplies, were not marked with the common name of the chemical. Bottles were labeled during the inspection.
Chartwells @ Bancroft Elementary School, 181 Bancroft Rd. Kennett Square, April 4. Pass. No violations.
Chartwells @ MD Lang Elementary School, 409 Center St. Kennett Square, April 4. Fail. Dish surface did not reach at least 160 degrees F in the dishwasher. The wash temp of the water was only 140 degrees F. Rinse reached 180 degrees F. The dish surface (after several washes) was 150-151 degrees F. Must manually sanitize all tray and equipment until this machine reaches proper temps. Use dishwasher test strip or the new thermometer when it arrive to test temp daily. Repair over Spring Break.
