The Kennett Square garden has been nominated for Best Botanical Garden in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice contest.

Longwood Gardens is up against 19 other gardens, from Alaska Botanical Garden in Anchorage to Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden, south of Miami. Also on the list is another site in Pennsylvania: Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Pittsburgh.

Readers can vote once a day for their favorite garden until Monday, March 10 at noon.

In the fall, Longwood Gardens unveiled a $250 million renovation with a new Mediterranean-themed conservatory, a new tropical greenhouse and more.

Winter hours at the garden are Wednesday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays the site is closed.

Longwood Gardens has shown its popularity in the 10Best awards, winning best public garden and best botanical garden honor plus the best botanical garden holiday lights contest five times.

Lancaster County has a few winners in past readers’ choice awards.
