Author of historic novels set in Juniata County writes about environment, racism and other issues

Joyce Kieffer – has authored a trilogy of books – historical fiction novels called The Trees Inspire, The Trees Endure and The Trees Remember.

Beautifully written, the three books are set in Juniata County in Central Pennsylvania more than 120 years ago. Although, the story starts in 1897, the books touch on issues we are facing today like the environment, race, classism, family conflict and gender inequality.
