Off-air notice for Chambersburg

This note pertains to you if you live in Franklin County and listen to or watch WITF over the air:

Television:

The translator providing TV coverage to Chambersburg and Franklin County will be turned off Friday morning for scheduled maintenance.  WITF engineers will be moving our transmitting equipment to a new tower location and installing several pieces of new equipment.  The signal is slated to be returned to service mid day.

We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause.  Replacing equipment is necessary to maintain our ability to continue to broadcast reliably in the region.

Due to updates being made to the Chambersburg signal, you will need to perform a rescan with your television (if you watch us with an antenna) to ensure your TV is getting our signal.

This interruption of service will only affect television viewers in Chambersburg and Franklin County.

Radio:

The transmitter broadcasting our radio service in Chambersburg at 93.3 (WYPM) will be offline while the equipment is moved to a new site.  The signal will be offline at around 9am until early evening. During that time you will be unable to receive WYPM. Please consider streaming the radio service through the website, your smart phone or ask your smart speaker to “Play WITF Radio.” We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause.  This does not affect broadcast from WITF 89.5.
