(Harrisburg)  —  The state Department of Environmental Protection has issued a code-orange air quality alert for the midstate today.

Counties included in the alert are Dauphin, Lebanon, Cumberland, York and Lancaster.

The code-orange alert means that air pollution concentrations within the region may be unhealthy for children, the elderly and people suffering from asthma or heart disease.

The DEP says people in those sensitive groups should limit strenuous outdoor activity.
