  Fred Vigeant is WITF's Director of Programming and Promotions for TV and Radio. Fred manages the schedules for our radio and television platforms. He also analyzes audience research and manages the public affairs program Smart Talk. Previously, Fred was at WRVO in Oswego, NY for 12 years serving in various roles including Program Director and before that Operations Manager. Fred graduated from the State University of New York College at Oswego with a B.A. in Mass Communications and Broadcasting.

The Indian Doctor is a comedy-drama set in the 1960s following a high-flying Delhi graduate Dr. Prem Sharma (Sanjeev Bhaskar) and his wife Kamini’s (Ayesha Dharker) new life in a Welsh coal-mining town.

Once in Wales, they quickly become embroiled in the lives of the villagers, although the regal Kamini is determined to leave as soon as possible.

In the premiere episode of The Indian Doctor Dr. Prem Sharma and his wife Kamini first move to the UK after being wooed by dreams of riches and glamour, only to find themselves residing in a small Welsh mining village.

While Prem strikes up new friendships and settles into life in the Valleys, Kamini wants them to leave as soon as possible.
