When the State Stopped

  • Fred Vigeant

On February 26th, the state health secretary uttered the word “coronavirus” for the first time publicly.

Over the next several weeks, Pennsylvanians experienced a series of unprecedented events.

Schools were closed for the year. Businesses were shut down. And people were ordered to stay home.

Drawing on reporting from WITF’s journalists and public radio stations across the state over the last two months, WITF has produced a documentary looking back at how it all unfolded.

Join hosts Tim Lambert and Rachel McDevitt for When the State Stopped on Friday, May 15th, at 9am and 7pm and Sunday, May 17 at 11am on WITF 89.5 & 93.3.
