Join Smart Talk at The Rose Lehrman Arts Center on the campus of Harrisburg Area Community College as we discuss Career & Technical Education and Workforce Development in the Midstate. It’s our next Smart Talk Road Trip, on Thursday February 27th. Bring your questions to the LIVE remote broadcast beginning at 9am.

In order to be prepared for the workforce of the future, students need to graduate with strong academic, technical, and real-world skills. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all path for high school graduates, so it’s important for them to be prepared for success on whatever path they take after they get their diploma – whether they enter the workforce, join the military, or continue their education. Career and technical education (CTE) offers students the opportunity to develop critical skills through a combination of classes and hands-on learning experiences, which allow them to apply academics to real-world problems. From engineering, medial professions and welding to IT, automotive tech and the culinary arts–Smart Talk explores the story of Pennsylvania’s career and technical education and the people – students, parents, educators and employers – working together to prepare learners for their future.
