“In my painting, I strive to create work that is visually exciting and expressive. My most frequent medium is oil, but I also work in acrylic, pastel, watercolor, and drawing media, as well as printmaking. Most of the works in this exhibition are oil paintings, and range in size from very small to very large. There are also a few pastels, acrylics, and hand-pulled prints. Because I don’t like to limit my options for artistic expression, my style varies widely, from fairly “realistic” to completely abstract. My favorite subject is people, but I also love doing landscape, flowers, still life, and abstraction. No matter what the subject, my goal is the same—to try to create a work that communicates with the viewer, my response to the mystery and wonder of life.”
