Scott Yoo hosts Now Hear This by Great Performances on WITF TV.
Join Scott Yoo, renowned violinist and conductor of the Mexico City Philharmonic, in the new four-part series Now Hear This by Great Performances.
You will travel with Scott Yoo as he meets and collaborates with world-renowned virtuosos, local musical heroes across many genres, artisan instrument makers, music historians and other charismatic characters through Italy, France, Germany, Spain and Morocco.
Each episode focuses on a great composer, tracing the creation of their masterpieces and the profound, lasting cultural impact of their music, while exploring little known or recently discovered works and new music they inspired.
Now Hear This on WITF Fridays at 9:00pm beginning September 20. Episode rundown:
- September 20 – Vivaldi – Explore Italy and discover how composer Vivaldi sparked a new era of music
- September 27 – Bach – Travel to Germany and France to explore Bach’s works for solo violin
- October 4 – Scarlatti – Journey to Spain and Morocco to discover how the region inspired Scarlatti
