Mindlin loses appeal, will not wage write-in campaign
(Harrisburg) — Commonwealth Court has upheld a Dauphin County judge’s decision to remove Nevin Mindlin’s name from Harrisburg’s mayoral ballot.
Mindlin, and independent candidate, was thrown off the ballot in August because he failed to identify a ‘committee to fill vacancies’ on his nominating papers.
He expressed his disappointment in a statement released today. The statement indicates Mindlin does not intend to wage a write-in campaign.
Today’s ruling means there will be two candidates on Harrisburg’s November fifth mayoral ballot — Eric Papenfuse and Dan Miller.
Lewis Butts is pressing forward with a write-in campaign. He garnered only 64 votes in May’s Democratic primary.
