Lycoming County Frack Truck Crash: 3,600 Gallons Spilled
Here’s new information from the Department of Environmental Protection about yesterday’s Lycoming County fracking fluid spill:
Investigators say 3,600 gallons of treated frack water spilled out of the truck, which had the capacity to hold an additional 1,000 gallons. In addition to the mix of brine, salt and chemicals, 5 gallons of transmission oil and 2 gallons of power steering fluid spilled onto Route 44 in Watson Township.
The accident occurred near Pine Creek. It’s not clear how much of the fluid entered the waterway.
