Itinerary
LAWRENCE FAMILY REUNION
From 9 months old to 90 years young, the Lawrence Family reunion is a gathering of generations. The Lawrence’s can trace the tradition back to 1967. Over the years, the family has grown and settled all across the United States. That’s why every other year the Lawrence’s take an opportunity to come together and reconnect as a family. What started as a small back yard get-together has evolved to full scale, carefully orchestrated family celebration.
SOUND OF PHILADELPHIA
Reunions are about love and empowerment…just like the smash hits written by song-writing duo Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. Their music defined a generation and helped put Philadelphia on the musical map. With 70 #1 hits and collaborations with artists like Patti Labelle, Teddy Pendergrass, the O’Jays and The Jacksons…Gamble and Huff’s sound is legendary! Music lovers can stop by the Sound of Philadelphia Souvenir Shop along Philly’s Avenue of the Arts and relive classic Philadelphia soul.
PLEASE TOUCH MUSEUM
Reunions offer endless possibilities for traveling families. So if you’re looking for a place where kids and adults can learn and explore together…the family-friendly Please Touch Museum is just the spot.
BOUNDLESS PHILLY
Philly’s known for it’s history, but it also offers unique adventures in the great outdoors! The city’s Boundless Philadelphia initiative offers visitors endless opportunities to play outside.
BOATHOUSE ROW
Pull out your paddles and head for The Schuylkill River…home to more rowing and paddling events than any other river in the country. Guided adventures are available along Historic Boathouse Row, the epicenter of American rowing.
INSECTARIUM
Go buggy at the Philadelphia Insectarium! What began as one man's tribute to the wonderful world of insects is now the largest bug museum in the nation.
UNIVERSITY CITY ARTS LEAGUE
On the other side of the city, in West Philadelphia, visitors will find the University City Arts League. Created in 1965 by a handful of artists and art collectors, you can enjoy classes in everything from painting and photography, to screen writing and old school hip-hop!
