CARNEGIE LIBRARY
Just a short drive from downtown you’ll find the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. Founded in 1895, it was one of the first of many libraries built through out the world by steel tycoon Andrew Carnegie.
PITTSBURGH ZOO & PPG AQUARIUM
Check out wild beasts at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium! Located in Pittsburgh's Highland Park, the zoo is home to over 4,000 animals representing 475 species.
RACHEL CARSON HOMESTEAD
Want to learn how you can live in harmony with nature? Visit The Rachel Carson Homestead just 18 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. It’s the birthplace and childhood home of ecologist Rachel Carson. Her 1962 book "Silent Spring” helped launch the modern environmental movement.
