ELK HERD
Inspiration for carvings created at the Rendezvous often comes from local critters, including the larger than life Pennsylvania elk. Well they don’t call it Elk County for nothing! Every year thousands of visitors head into the Pennsylvania Wilds in hopes of catching a glimpse of these majestic creatures. One of the best spots to see the elk is in the nearby town of Benezette. You’ll often find them munching grass in front yards and leisurely crossing back roads in search of food.
