RIDGWAY CHAINSAW CARVERS RENDEZVOUS

Itinerary

RIDGWAY CHAINSAW CARVERS RENDEZVOUS
Carvers from across the country and around the world flock to Ridgway, the epicenter of creative energy. That’s really what the festival’s all about…creativity and a flurry of activity. Founded in 2000 by Rick and Liz Boni the Rendezvous is truly a labor of love. It’s where new friendships are formed and old friendships grow stronger.

CLEAR CREEK STATE PARK
Located about 45 minutes west of Ridgway, Clear Creek State Park is a popular spot to escape from it all and get back to nature. Most of the park was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The first public campsites at Clear Creek were opened in 1922. In May 1933, the CCC greatly expanded the recreational facilities. By the time they departed in 1937, they had built the cabins, the swimming area, the food concession building, restrooms, trails, bridges and roads.

IMPACT ZONE PAINTBALL
What started out as a tool for the forestry service in the 1950’s, has blasted its way to becoming one of the nation’s most popular sports. Find out what the buzz is all about at Impact Zone Paintball in Falls Creek.

BWP BATS
Did you know that BWP made the bat used by Johnny Damon of the Boston Red Sox on his way to the 2004 World Series? In fact he uses their bats almost exclusively! Professional players from across the country can’t wait to get their hands on a BWP. The company selects the best wood straight from the forest ships it down the road to be hand crafted in the bat factory.

TIONESTA FISH HATCHERY
For the lowdown on musky, walleyes, steelheads and pretty much all matters fish…check out the Tionesta Fish Hatchery just one hour west of Brookville. Basically a giant nursery for baby fishies…it’s a great place for the whole family! Stop by the visitor’s center; take a sneak peek in the hatch house; stroll past raceways and ponds, plus much more!

CLARION-LITTLE TOBY TRAIL
Strap on your cross country skies and hit the trail! Stretching 19 miles from Ridgway to Brockway the Clarion-Little Toby Trail is one of the most scenic rail-trails in the state. Along the way…explore reminders of the Lumber Era like ghost towns, logging dams, railroad bridges, and quarries.
