ARTISTS’ TRAIL: ROUTE 15 PART 2 Itinerary
Susquehanna Art Museum
Susquehanna Art Museum is Harrisburg's home for internationally-recognized artists. Three galleries are devoted to works that reflect the diverse cultural heritage of the community. The museum is free, but donations are encouraged.
Theatre Harrisburg
Up for a memorable evening of drama and entertainment? Experience the thrill of live performance at the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts. Theatre Harrisburg has the unique distinction of being the Center’s resident theater company, and is one of the 25 oldest theatre companies in the nation. Take in a Main Stage Production in the beautiful Sunoco Performance Theatre or head uptown to the Krevsky Production Center and check out a holiday revue or cabaret performance!
Little Buffalo State Park
Looking for a great place to kick back and enjoy nature? Look no further than Little Buffalo State Park in Newport. Make sure you bring your camera because the park’s got photo opportunities around every corner. From an 82 foot historic single arch covered bridge, to a fully restored 19th Century gristmill…a hike along the trails is a great way for visitors to enjoy both history and nature.
Art Center Schools and Galleries
Located in a rustic red barn just outside of town is the Mechanicsburg Art Center School and Galleries. Since 1954 the center has been bringing local artists together, allowing them to share their work, further their skills and form new friendships. Artists of all skill levels can enjoy classes in everything from Old World Style Painting to portrait drawing.
