ARTISTS’ TRAIL: ROUTE 15 PART 1

Artists and artisans abound throughout Pennsylvania’s Capitol Region, and traveling along Route 15 can be your express lane to the area’s best galleries, exhibits, studios, and shops.

Explore PA took three friends- Shoshanna, Owen, and Kim- on an adventure along this artistic route. The travelers had such a great time, we made their trip into a two part show! Along the way they’ll not only see great art, but they’ll even get to create some themselves.

Beginning their first day’s journey at the Chimney’s Violin Shop, the travelers explore everything from folk art to the art of gourds. Tour the workshop of a nationally known wood carver, check out a farm that handcrafts gourds at Meadowbrooke Gourds, plus take a look at how nature influences art at the Ned Smith Center for Nature & Art.
