FLIGHT 93 MEMORIAL
“A common field one day… a field of honor forever.” 30 minutes west of Bedford sits the temporary, but moving memorial to the passengers of United Flight 93. A group of 42 volunteer ambassadors have staffed the memorial where visitors pay their respects and leave tributes.
JEAN BONNET TAVERN
Jean Bonnet Tavern is known for its food, lodging and spirits…and by spirits they don’t necessarily mean fizzy drinks – they mean ghosts! This historic restaurant not only charms its guest with great food and hospitality, they also offer the potential to have unearthly encounters with patrons from its historical past!
GRAVITY HILL
So you think the only place you can defy gravity is in outer space? What if we told you it’s possible right hear in PA? A visit to a very specific spot on Gravity Hill will allow you to do just that. Look for the spot marked “GH” and shift your car in neutral…you’ll swear you’re moving uphill! Better yet…get out of the car…pour some water on the ground and see it flows up. It’s amazing! We wonder what Sir Issac Newton would have to say about this.
THE COFFEE POT
After defying gravity take a quick drive past Beford’s ginormous shrine to caffeination! Come see one of the US’s last 5 coffee-shaped buildings and a national historic landmark at Route 30’s Coffee Pot. This recently-restored 1927 super sized pot measures 18 feet in diameter and continues to serve as a beacon to sightseers in the area.
BEDFORD SPRINGS HOTEL
The Beford Springs Resort opened in 1804 and soon became known as the most popular resort in the United States. Hosting 10 Presidents and even the Supreme Court, President James Buchanan referred to it as his Summer White House. This national historic landmark recently underwent a 100-million dollar renovation and now boasts state-of-the-art technology, a world-class spa with natural springs and a renovated golf course.

It may be hard to believe, but one of the world leaders in bicycle manufacturing actually started in a loft above a pickle factory in the 1970’s! Since then, Cannondale has led the industry in bicycle innovation can be purchased in over 70 countries, world wide.
FORT BEDFORD MUSEUM
Fort Bedford was constructed in 1758 as a key fortification by the British during the French and Indian War. The fort stood until the 1780’s as a frontier outpost. Today, a museum and a reconstructed blockhouse stand where to outpost once existed. The blockhouse structure houses a large scale model of the original fort and also depicts Forbes Road and the surrounding area. Native American, British and Pioneers artifacts make up the museum’s large collection of period pieces.
