Spirit of Independence: Valley Forge

DAY ONE
Musket Firing Demonstration at Valley Forge National Historical Park
• Who was the Patriot Soldier, and why did he join the Continental Army? Find out what soldier life at Valley Forge was like, and how important the training was that took place here.

Tour George Washington's Headquarters at Valley Forge National Historical Park
• Everyone knows General George Washington...or do they? Learn about George Washington and the role he played at Valley Forge and elsewhere during the War of Independence.

Mill Grove Audubon Society
• Get up close and personal with a red tail hawk at Mill Grove. Built in 1762, it’s the first home in America of the artist, author and naturalist, John James Audubon, a pioneer in the study and drawing of wildlife.

Outdoor education at Evansburg State Park
• Discover the clues animals leave behind. We don’t always see animals in the wild, but we can tell they have been in an area by what is left—scat, tracks, gnawed food.

DAY TWO
Explore the American Helicopter Museum
• The American Helicopter Museum is a one of a kind experience. A great place for families - kids can climb aboard helicopters of all kinds for a truly unique hands-on experience.

• Join your guide, Archie Plummer, on a journey through time as he introduces you to both sides of the heated argument over Independence
