The Newkirk Family from Curwensville in Clearfield County explores the history of the Underground Railroad and religious freedom in the Lancaster area. The family will lodge and participate in daily chores at the Country Log House Farm, attend the “Living the Experience” Underground R.R. Reenactment, take a walking tour of Downtown Columbia, fly in a helicopter, and more.

DAY ONE
Attend the “Living the Experience” Underground Railroad Reenactment

Take a Freedom’s Crossing Walking Tour in Columbia
• Visit Zion Hill Cemetery and the Wrightsville Bridge

Tour the Amish Country Homestead
• The Amish Country Homestead pulls back the veil and allows visitors to take a peek inside Amish life. After brushing on up your Amish culture head next door to Plain & Fancy Restaurant and learn to make a traditional Pennsylvania Dutch dessert…shoe fly pie!

Dutch Country Helicopters
• Get a bird’s eye view of beautiful Lancaster County with a breathtaking helicopter ride.

DAY TWO
Down on the farm at Country Log House Farm
• Watch as our family milks goats, collects eggs, cuddles kittens and learns about life on the farm

Visit the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania
• Discover the colorful history of Pennsylvania's railroad industry at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. Sit in an engineer's seat, explore a caboose, play with model trains and much more!

Explore the Amazing Maze at Cherry Crest Farm
• Head for the corn fields at Cherry Crest Farm. The farm has earned a place in agri-tainment history as home to America’s longest running amazing corn maze!!

Lancaster Central Park
• Family takes part in a Fall Treasure Hunt with park naturalist
