Planned giving is a method of supporting non-profits and charities that allows donors to make larger gifts than they may be able to make through their discretionary income. Some choose to give a gift as a bequest in their will. Others provide a lifelong income to the donor. Some planned gifts use estate and tax planning to provide for an organization the donor cares about.
By contrast, gifts to our annual fund are made from an individual's income, and while they may be budgeted for, they are not considered planned giving.
Donors may choose to use cash, stocks, real estate, art work, life insurance, retirement plans, etc. The benefits of funding a planned gift can make the gift of charitable giving attractive to both the individual and charity.
"Our gift to WITF's future is also a gift to others. WITF is an important resource for our region, bringing many communities together to create the extraordinary. Through local and international programming, it reaches out to enrich the entire Central Pennsylvania region in a real and tangible way – effectively connecting the individual communities in which we live." - Donors Lincoln & Marilyn Warrell
